MIND

And thou, Solomon, my son, know the God of thy

father, and serve him with a perfect heart

and a willing mind...

1 Chronicles 28:9

Meditation:

How is the God I serve the same or different from the God my earthly father

has served?

Affirmation:

My mind is open and available to the God of my understanding.

Prayer:

I confess to you, God Almighty, any confusion I may have regarding authority figures

in my life, and I confess any misguided service to these authorities.

HEART

And David went out to meet them (warriors of the tribes

of Benjamin and Judah), and answered

and said unto them, If ye come peaceably unto me

to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you...

1 Chronicles 12:17

Meditation:

Do I notice and speak of the peace I want in relationship with others?

Affirmation:

Today I speak clearly of my need for peace.

Prayer:

Thank you, God, for all the times of peace throughout history.

HEART

Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may

know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou

hast turned their heart back again (to you).

1 Kings 18:37

Meditation:

Do I pray often for others to know and to love God?

Affirmation:

I know that God changes hearts.

Prayer:

I praise you, Lord, that you have the power to turn hearts to back to you

when they have strayed.

HEART

Behold, I have done according to thy words:

lo, I have given thee (Solomon) an understanding heart:

so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after

thee shall any arise like unto thee.

1 Kings 3:12

Meditation:

How highly do I value the gift of an understanding heart?

Affirmation:

The riches of an understanding heart are God's to give.

Prayer:

I praise you Father God for the riches you pour out to your beloved people.

HEART

And it was so, that when he had turned

his back to go to Samuel, God gave him (Saul)

another heart...

Meditation:

Do I believe that God changes people in their hearts?

Affirmation:

I trust God with the power of transformation.

Prayer:

Creator God, thank you that you work in the deepest parts of people in order

to do your will here.

MIND

And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago,

set not thine mind on them; for they are found.

And on whom is all the desire of Israel?

Is it not on thee and on all thy father's house?

1 Samuel 9:20

Meditation:

Is my mind focused today on what I lost yesterday?

Affirmation:

Today I will set my mind on the desires of God's people.

Prayer:

God, my redeemer and my friend, I pray that you would relieve me from

focusing my losses.

HEART

And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart,

and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God

with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou

mayest live.

Deuteronomy 30:6

Meditation:

Am I willing to make my heart completely vulnerable to God's saving action today?

Affirmation:

My heart's desire is to love God completely.

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord God, for the changes you will make in all of us, so that we can

love you with our whole hearts.
