SOUL

He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned,

and perverted that which was right, and it profited me

not; he will deliver his soul from going into the pit,

and his life shall see the light.

Job 33:27,28

Meditation:

Is there unconfessed sin dragging me down today?

Affirmation:

I admit to God my wrong doing and my wrong thinking.

Prayer:

Lord God, please continue to chasten and guide me and to hear my

confession, so that my soul will see the light.

MIND

But he (God) is in one mind, and who can turn him? And what

his soul desireth, even that he doeth. For he performeth the thing

that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.

Job 23:13

Meditation:

What does it mean to me that God has one mind?

Affirmation:

I trust that God cannot be turned from his plans for me.

Prayer:

Lord God, I confess that I have wasted energy in trying to turn you from

your plan for me.

MIND

So built we the wall; and the wall was joined

together unto the half thereof; for the people

had a mind to work.

Nehemiah 4:6

Meditation:

What work of which people is my mind eager to join and why?

Affirmation:

My mind and my work and my people are surrendered to God.

Prayer:

I confess now, Father, that my mind is often preoccupied with seeking my

own comfort. Have mercy on my mind, in Jesus' Name.

HEART

O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel,

our fathers, keep this (David's preparations to build

the Temple) for ever in the imagination of the thoughts

of the heart of thy people, and prepare their hearts

unto thee...

1 Chronicles 29:18

Meditation:

Will I use my imagination to think of awesome moments in God's

relationship with his people?

Affirmation:

With my heart I ponder the great acts of faith recorded in holy scripture.

Prayer:

Lord God, I pray that you would prepare my heart to receive more of your

truth.

MIND

And thou, Solomon, my son, know the God of thy

father, and serve him with a perfect heart

and a willing mind...

1 Chronicles 28:9

Meditation:

How is the God I serve the same or different from the God my earthly father

has served?

Affirmation:

My mind is open and available to the God of my understanding.

Prayer:

I confess to you, God Almighty, any confusion I may have regarding authority figures

in my life, and I confess any misguided service to these authorities.

HEART

And David went out to meet them (warriors of the tribes

of Benjamin and Judah), and answered

and said unto them, If ye come peaceably unto me

to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you...

1 Chronicles 12:17

Meditation:

Do I notice and speak of the peace I want in relationship with others?

Affirmation:

Today I speak clearly of my need for peace.

Prayer:

Thank you, God, for all the times of peace throughout history.

HEART

Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may

know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou

hast turned their heart back again (to you).

1 Kings 18:37

Meditation:

Do I pray often for others to know and to love God?

Affirmation:

I know that God changes hearts.

Prayer:

I praise you, Lord, that you have the power to turn hearts to back to you

when they have strayed.
