MIND

And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall
do according to that which is in mine heart and in my
mind: and I will build him a sure house, and he shall work
before mine anointed for ever.

Which of my activities show me that I am more interested in God's mind
than in my own?

May I do all my work with the consciousness of your presence, Lord Jesus,
Holy Spirit, God.

and come with all the desire of his mind
unto the place which the Lord shall choose;
Then he shall minister in the name of the Lord his God...

me where I can do the most good.

MIND

(When Sarah died), Abraham stood up, and bowed himself
to the people of the land, even unto the children of Heth.
And he communed with them saying, If it be your mind that I
should bury my dead out of my sight ... and Ephron the Hittite
answered Abraham ... Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I
thee, and the cave that is therein ... bury thy dead.
Genesis 23: excerpts 7-11

Meditation:
Abraham, "a mighty prince" humbly sought understanding from strangers in
his time of need: what might I need that I could humble or bow myself to ask for
from the people around me?

Affirmation:
I love to commune with the minds of the people with me.

Prayer:
In Jesus' Name I pray dear God; please lead me to a daily experience of
humility which will place me in community and allow me to ask for help
when I need it.

MIND

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
But I see another law in my members,
warring against the law of my mind, and bringing
me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Romans 7:22,23

Meditation:
What habits of body are causing me conflict today?

Affirmation:
Today I can stop, look, and listen for the Light of God before taking
up my negative habit.

Prayer:
With Jesus there is peace and light: may I be firm in looking to you for help,
my Savior and my God.

And Esau was forty years old when he took to
wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite,
and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:
which were a grief of mind to Isaac and Rebekah.
Genesis 26: 34-35

Meditation:
Is my mind grieved or worried today about any of my in-laws?

Affirmation:
I accept and affirm my family connections as part of God's plan.

Thank you God for the story of Isaac and Rebekah; may I live humbly
in relation to your plan for my family.

MIND

And the second time the cock crew. And Peter
called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him,
Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me
thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
Mark 14:72

Meditation:
Will I follow Peter's example and actively call to mind the personal truths
Jesus has revealed to me? Do I have the will to remember?

Affirmation:
I remember the conviction which led me to repentance.

Prayer:
God, my Father, thank you for the tears of Saint Peter. I pray
that you would strengthen my heart and mind to face the pain of my sins, so
that I will stay on the path with Jesus.

MIND

(There are ten kings that)...have one mind, and shall
give their power to the beast. These shall make war
with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them:
for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that
are with Him are called and chosen, and faithful.
Revelations 17:13,14

Meditation:
Have I ever experienced the power of minds working together for a
negative purpose or with a negative result?

Affirmation:
I give my thoughts and my power wholly to the King of kings.

Prayer:
Mighty God, I entreat you; may I cling to the Lord Jesus when threatened
or tempted by powerful destructive thoughts or thinkers.
