Psalms 42:1

As the hart panteth after the water brooks,

so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Will I pay attention to my thirst for God today?

Affirmation:

The right course for me is to seek God.

Prayer:

I adore you, God, in your Creation, in all its perfection, and in the way

you supply for the needs of your creatures.

Psalms 37: 14,15

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and

have bent their bow, to cast down the poor

and needy, and to slay such as be of upright

conversation. Their sword shall enter into their

own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

Meditation:

What responsibility do I take for the condition of my own heart?

Affirmation:

Today I guard my heart by guarding my thoughts.

Prayer:

Thank you God, for your unchangeable laws regarding the behavior of your children.

Psalms 34:18

The Lord is nigh unto them that are

of a broken heart; and saveth such as be

of contrite spirit.

Meditation:

What experience of broken-heartedness in my life has brought

me closer to God?

Affirmation:

The Lord God is near in every situation, in every loss.

Prayer:

God, may I feel your saving presence throughout my heart and spirit today.

Psalms 4:7

Thou has put gladness in my heart,

more than in the time that their corn

and their wine increased.

Meditation:

Am I trying to increase my own gladness by increasing my possessions?

Affirmation:

God is the source of my gladness.

Prayer:

Father God, I confess and repent of my selfishness in seeking after gladness and schemes

that I hope will make me glad, instead of seeking you.

Psalms 4:4

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your

own heart upon your bed, and be still.

Meditation:

What is stopping me from getting quiet and listening to my heart?

Affirmation:

I enjoy stillness and listening today.

Prayer:

You are awesome, Lord, in all your ways; and this I know in my heart.

Job 7:17

What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him?

and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?

Meditation:

Do I believe that God cares about me and my life today?

Affirmation:

The heart of God is our life.

Prayer:

Creator God, how wonderful it is to know that your heart is for your creation.

HEART

And in every work that he (Hezekiah) began

in the service of the house of God, and in the law,

and in the commandments, to seek his God,

he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

11 Chronicles 31:21

Meditation:

Today will I do my work for God, with all my heart?

Affirmation:

My work is in the service of God; and I do it with all my heart.

Prayer:

May I find you in my work, Lord; and may I seek you wholeheartedly there.
