In what way and why am I vulnerable to misalliances?

Affirmation

Now I am gathered into safety by the loving power of God.

Prayer

Lord, I admit to my weakness and foolishness in relation to the false promises of sinful people and substances. Please pull me in close to you and cover me today.

HEART

And I will give them one heart, and I will put

a new spirit within you, and I will take the stony

heart out of their flesh and will give them a heart

of flesh.

What habits of thought and action are hard and heart-hardening for me?

Affirmation

I receive my new heart and spirit from God.

Prayer

In Jesus' Name I pray to give up all hard-heartedness towards self and other, as God gives me newness of life.

SOUL

The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore

will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them

that wait for him; to the soul that seeketh him.

Lamentations 3:24,25

What is my soul saying about who God is to me?

Affirmation

I wait for God and receive the Good.

Prayer

All my hope is in you, Lord God; and I am in awe of the wonderful eternal life that you give to those who wait on you.

MIND

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;

but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other

better than themselves.

Philippians 2:3

Meditation

In what way does esteem of the other person affect my self-esteem?

Affirmation

By valuing people highly, my mind finds the right actions.

Prayer

May I be comfortable in lowliness of mind, dear God, so that my actions will bring glory to you.

SOUL

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness:

and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: when I

remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in

the night watches.

Psalms 63:5

Meditation

Is my soul deeply satisfied with my habit of prayer and meditation?

Affirmation

My soul is satisfied when I remember God.

Prayer

Forgive me, Lord Jesus, for following paths of distraction instead of filling my soul with you and your love.

HEART

If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house

of the Lord at Jerusalem, then shall the heart

of this people turn again unto their Lord...

Meditation

Is there a place where my heart returns easily to the Lord? Will I make plans to visit this place soon, even in my imagination?

Affirmation

I seek peace, and my heart returns to the Lord.

Prayer

Thank you, God, for the journey of return and for being our sacred home.

MIND

This second epistle, beloved, I now write

unto you; in both which I stir up your pure

minds by way of remembrance...

What could I remember today which would bring my mind to the experience of purity?

Affirmation

Purity of mind is available to me today.
