Though a host should encamp against me,

How can the psalmist be so confident in his heart?

Affirmation

The confidence of my heart is God's presence.

Prayer

God I surrender all my fears to you and ask that you would give

me confidence of heart for whatever comes.

MIND

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our

Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing,

and that there be no divisions among you; but that

ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind

and in the same judgement.

What is the unity of mind that I seek?

Affirmation

The Christ mind is healing and unifying.

Prayer

I am ready Lord, to let go of impediments to unity of mind, such as pride in my own thinking and narrow-mindedness.

SOUL

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and

superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with

meekness the engrafted word, which is able

to save your souls.

James 1:21

Which are the words of scripture which are speaking strongly to me of late? Am I actively living them?

Affirmation

My soul needs the saving power of the word of God.

Prayer

May I hear you speaking to me today, Lord, through your Word.

HEART

A sound heart is the life of the flesh:

but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Proverbs 14:30

What if I know for sure that envy would shorten my life?

Affirmation

My heart is enlivened by gratitude.

Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for creating us to be whole and wholesome in the unity of

mind, body, and spirit.

MIND

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord

Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That

ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by

Spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the

day of Christ is at hand.

What is my understanding of "the day of Christ?"

Affirmation

My mind is firm: the future belongs to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Prayer

Holy One, thank you for the ever-living Hope that is Christ Jesus--past, present, and future.

SOUL

Our soul waiteth for the Lord:

he is our help and our shield.

How does waiting for the Lord feel to me?

Affirmation

Our help is coming.

Prayer

All helpful ideas come from you, Lord God. May I wait patiently for your guidance.

MIND

And even as they did not like to retain God

in their knowledge, God gave them over

to a reprobate mind, to do those things which

are not convenient.

How will I retain God in my thoughts today?

Affirmation

I enjoy thinking about God.

Prayer

Lord, I admit with sadness the frequency with which my thoughts stray from you. May I always listen to your calling me back.
