SOUL

Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently,

lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen,

and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life:

but teach the thy sons and thy sons' sons...

Meditation:

What is my soul wanting to teach to my children?

Affirmation:

Today I am aware of the desires of my soul.

Prayer:

I adore you, God, for all the ways you have revealed yourself in scripture and

in my own daily life.

HEART

But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass

by him: for the LORD God hardened his spirit,

and made his heart obstinate, that he

might deliver him into thy hand...

Deuteronomy 2:30

Meditation:

Do I accept that God sometimes hardens hearts in order for His will to be performed?

Affirmation:

I accept the emotions of human beings as part of God's will.

Prayer:

Honor and glory are yours, Lord, for the creation of human emotions and for

your action on human hearts.

MIND

If Balak would give me his house full of silver

and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment

of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind;

but what the LORD saith, that will I speak.

Numbers 24:13

Meditation

How do I usually make my decisions; do I consider God's word when I make important

choices?

Affirmation

Today I am mindful of God's sovereignty over my choices.

Prayer

Thank you, God, for the example of Balaam, for his integrity and firmness in speaking for you.

SOUL

And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way

of the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom: and

the soul of the people was much discouraged because

of the way.

Numbers 21:4

Meditation

Is there any sense of discouragement in my way today?

Affirmation

I continue on the way as God has willed today.

Prayer

I admit to you, Almighty God, my moments of discouragement in the way

you have set before me.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields

nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the

glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were

terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid.

I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all

people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born

to you; he is Christ the Lord.

Luke 2:8-11

Meditation:

Has the reality of change in my life met with the abiding birth of my Savior bringing

forth joy?

Affirmation:

Today my Savior is born to me.

Prayer:

Good news and glory, light and joy, are yours forever, Lord; today is the day. May I begin each day from now by reverently bowing to your Saving Grace Jesus Christ.

MIND

For they that are after the flesh do mind

the things of the flesh: but they that are after

the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Romans 8:5

Do the people I know fit neatly into one of these two categories?

Affirmation

What I seek I find.

Prayer

Thank you, Creator God, for your immutable laws.

SOUL

Ye that love the Lord, hate evil:

he preserveth the souls of saints;

he delivereth them out of the hand of

the wicked.

Psalms 97:10

Meditation

When have I lacked the strength to detach myself from a toxic relationship

or habit?

Affirmation

God delivers and preserves the souls of his people.

Prayer

Lord, you know that I long for you above all else: please remove me

from actions and conversations that do not honor you.
