Titus 1:15

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them
that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure;
but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

What will I do today to clean up my thoughts?

I keep my head clear by focusing on Christ Jesus.

Dear God, I pray that you will keep me from wrong thinking today
so that my sight will be clear to see your glory all around.

1 Timothy 1:5

Now the end of the commandment is
charity out of a pure heart, and a
good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.

Am I giving with expectation of return? Let me be clear
about the Source of my gift and the gratitude which moves me to give.

Today my goal is a heart full of faith and a clear conscience.

Lord God, I confess the times lately when my caring for others has been
motivated by a wish for attention or approval rather than by my faith in you.
Help me to return to you with clarity of purpose.

2 Thessalonians 3:5

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love
of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

How might my emotions be affected if I were actively
patiently waiting for Christ?

I experience the love of God today while I wait for Christ to appear.

How wonderful you are, my God, that you always direct my heart
to love.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly;
and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and
body be preserved blameless unto the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Where in my days am I the most at risk for losing my peace?

The God of peace takes action to make me holy and keep me that way.

Lord God, forgive me for my arrogance when I have believed that through my own
efforts I could be saved.

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all
wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Which psalms dwell fully in my heart through memorization?

The word of Christ is grace in my heart.

May I be reminded to sing more often to you, my Friend
and my Redeemer.

Colossians 3:15

And let the peace of God rule in your
hearts, to the which also ye are called
in one body; and be ye thankful.

How are peace and community integrated in my life?

I find my peace through membership in the body of Christ.

Thank-you God for creating the possibility for all of us
to experience peace in unity.

Colossians 2:18

Let no man beguile you of your reward in
a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels,
intruding into those things which he hath not seen,
vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.

Am I easily diverted from the Gospel by all kinds of popular
spiritual claims?

My mind is rewarded by focusing on Christ Jesus.

I confess, God, that I have at times wandered with my mind into spiritual teachings
which are less than the Gospel. Help me, Lord, to come back to the Truth every day,
as revealed in your Word.

Colossians 2:1,2

For I would that ye knew what great conflict
I have for you, and for them at Laodicea... that their
hearts might be comforted being knit together
in love...

Is my heart knit together with the hearts of other believers?

My heart is part of a great weaving of love.

Lord, I praise you for being the Creator of caring relationships.

Philippians 4:6,7

Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God, And the peace of God, which
passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.

Is my prayer life bringing peace to my mind today?

The peace of God is mine through Christ Jesus.

With awe and thanksgiving, Lord God, I bring to you
the concerns of my heart and mind, hoping for the peace
that passes understanding.

Ephesians 6:5

Servants, be obedient to them that are your
masters according to the flesh, with fear and
trembling, in singleness of heart, as unto Christ...

What feelings do I have about being a servant?

In all circumstances my service is to the Lord.

Lord Jesus, please grace me with a right attitude towards the
service you have given me to perform.

Ephesians 5:18,19

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess:
but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves
in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
and making melody in your heart to the Lord...

What spiritual songs do I know by heart?

There is music in my heart for God today.

I adore you, Creator God, for the beauty of spiritual music.

II Corinthians 4:4,5

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that
are lost: In whom the god of this world hath
blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ,
who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Am I trusting the God of this world today, or the truth of the Gospel?

The Gospel is full of light for my mind.

Lord God, please inspire me often to seek you in your word,
for the enlightening of my mind, and have mercy on my mind
when it is full of the god of this world.

1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until
the Lord come, who both will bring to light
the hidden things of darkness, and will make
manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall
every man have praise of God.

Do I consider myself to be a righteous judge? In what situations lately
am I tempted to judge others? Do I judge myself?

I wait on the the Lord for truth and justice.

Come, Lord Jesus: bring Light to our darkness.

Acts 15:8,9

And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare
them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost,
even as he did unto us; and put no difference between
us and them (the Jews and the Gentiles), purifying
their hearts by faith.

Where is the "us and them" dilemma in my life today?

I look for the Holy Spirit to unify and harmonize groups of people.

Lord God, help me to see the unity that you have designed.

John 16:22

And ye now therefore have sorrow;
but I will see you again, and your heart
shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Am I looking for Him?

The joy of my heart is Jesus.

Thank you, God, for the truth of your returning presence
and the joy it brings.

John 14:1

Let not your hearts be troubled:
ye believe in God, believe also in me.

What is troubling my heart today?

I believe, and so I unburden my heart.

Thank-you Father God, that you want my heart to be
free of trouble; and you provide the way for this to be so through Christ Jesus.

Luke 24,25

(on the road to Emmaus) Then he said unto them,
O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the
prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered
these things, and enter into his glory?

Is my heart slow to believe good news?

I embrace God's plan of salvation.

God, I give you my heart for healing in hopes the I will follow Jesus
to glory.
