Ezekiel 12:7

And it shall be, when they say unto thee, wherefore
sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, for the tidings;
because it (the sword of the Lord) cometh: and every
heart shall melt...

What is my human response to the justice of God?

My heart responds to God.

My heart is calling to you, God, for mercy in your Judgement Day.

James 1:26

If any man among you seem to be religious,
and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his
own heart, this man's religion is vain.

What works best for me in restraining my tongue?

The truth of my faith is in my mouth today.

In your presence, Oh Lord, I repent wholeheartedly of misspoken,
unkind words.

Hebrews 12:3

For consider him that endured such
contradiction of sinners against himself,
lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Is my mind weary of hearing the assertions of falsehood? Will I recall the
mighty endurance of the Lord when sinners spoke against him?

I think of the Lord's endurance and so strengthen my mind.

Father God, thank you for showing me Jesus and so caring for
my mind.

Hebrews 10:38

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any
man draw back, my soul shall have no
pleasure in him.

Can I remember a time recently when I felt God's pleasure in my life?

My faith is growing for God's pleasure.

Dear God, I confess the doubts of my mind which have cut me off
from your pleasure; and I return my mind to you now.

Hebrews 3:7-8

Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, Today
if ye will hear his voice, harden not your
hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of
temptation in the wilderness...

Am I hoping to hear the voice of God in my heart today?

I am listening for God.

Lord Jesus, please help me to be aware of any hardness in my
attitude today; then may I confess to you my Friend.
